REHYDRATION

We are all water babies
Seeking the remaining 30%
That would complete
Our aquatic form
Boogie boarding into giant waves,
Wading up French gorges
Falling comically off canal boats
Tumbling from piggyback fights
In municipal pools.
Snorkelling in the shallows
Water pistols creating rainbows
In the July sunshine
Taking the full blast of garden sprinklers
Right in the face.
Smiling.
Soaking it all up.
